What GB News is
GB News is a British news and current affairs channel that started broadcasting on June 13, 2021. Its parent company is All Perspectives Ltd. Hedge fund manager Paul Marshall and Dubai-based investment group Legatum each hold roughly 40% of the shares, with smaller stakes held by executives and presenters.
The channel is based in London, with studios at Paddington Basin and a Westminster studio that opened in 2023. Angelos Frangopoulos is chief executive. The channel’s schedule leans heavily on presenter-led discussion and opinion programmes rather than rolling news alone.
Because it broadcasts in the UK, GB News is licensed and regulated by Ofcom. Ofcom has found the channel in breach of its broadcasting rules on several occasions, including on due impartiality. GB News challenged some of those rulings in court, and a High Court judgment in 2025 found certain earlier Ofcom findings unlawful. Readers who want the full regulatory history can check Ofcom’s published broadcast bulletins.

In the GB News app
The GB News app is free on the Apple App Store and Google Play. The App Store listing describes 24/7 live TV, live GB News Radio, podcasts, breaking news alerts and a personalized news feed. The Apple version also supports iPad and Apple TV.
The app has an optional paid membership. As of October 2026, the US App Store lists it at $10.00 per month or $99.99 per year. Membership adds a lighter ad experience, premium articles and early access to some videos. You do not need it to watch the live channel. Prices can differ by country, so check the store in your region.
On YouTube
GB News runs an official livestream on its YouTube channel. This is often the easiest option on a smart TV, games console or streaming stick that already has YouTube installed. Make sure you are on the verified GB News channel, not a re-upload.
On UK television
In the UK, GB News is a free-to-air channel. You will find it on Freeview 236, Sky 512, Virgin Media 604 and Freesat 216. Watching GB News outside the UK
GB News does not have a separate international channel. It reaches viewers abroad in four main ways.
- Online and app. GB News names its website, its app and YouTube as the options for viewers outside the UK.
- Truth+ in the US. GB News launched on Truth+ in the United States on August 11, 2025. It sits in the free tier. The GB News Truth+ page says the channel is available there in most countries. Truth+ has apps for iOS, Android, the web, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku.
- Satellite in Europe. Since November 2023, GB News has been carried on Astra 2G. That satellite covers the British Isles and parts of continental Europe, so expats with a suitable dish may be able to receive it.
- Satellite in the Middle East. Since September 2025, GB News has also been carried on Eutelsat W7A. Its footprint covers the Middle East, the Gulf states, North Africa and parts of Pakistan.
GB News has also been listed on free ad-supported TV services such as Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels and Rakuten TV. Line-ups on these services differ by country and change often. Open the service’s channel guide on your own TV to confirm before you plan around it.

Tips for a better GB News stream
These tips apply whether you watch GB News live on a TV or a phone.
- Use the official sources. Stick to gbnews.com, the official app, the verified YouTube channel and named platforms like Truth+. Unofficial streams can be unreliable and may carry malware.
- Check your connection. An HD livestream generally needs a steady broadband connection. If it buffers, try a wired connection or lower the quality setting in the player.
- Watch on a big screen. On a smart TV, the YouTube app or the Truth+ app is usually the quickest route. You can also cast from the phone app.
- Turn on alerts. The app’s breaking news alerts are useful if you only want to tune in when a big story breaks.
