CNN channel number on DIRECTV and DIRECTV Stream
CNN sits on channel 202 for both DIRECTV satellite and DIRECTV’s internet-delivered service. DIRECTV’s own channel guide describes 202 as the HD feed, so there is no separate HD number to remember.

What about AT&T U-verse?
U-verse’s lineup is now hosted on DIRECTV’s site, but it still uses its own numbers. As a result, CNN is 202 in standard definition and 1202 in HD. HLN is 203 (listed as “CNN Headline News”), CNN International is 205 and CNN en Español is 3110.
Where to find it on DISH
On DISH, CNN is channel 200, with no separate HD channel in the lineup. Meanwhile, HLN appears as “Headline News” on 202, so the two are only two clicks apart.
CNN en Español is on 849, but only if you add the Latino Bonus Pack. By contrast, CNN International does not appear on DISH’s 2026 lineup card at all. DISH also notes that some programming “may vary based on geographic location.”
CNN channel number on Verizon Fios
On Fios, CNN is 100 in standard definition and 600 in HD. HLN is 101 and CNN International is 105, so CNNi sits only a few numbers away from the main channel.
Also, CNN en Español is listed on 1540 in Fios Mix & Match plans. Verizon says channels are subject to change and points customers to its online lineup tool to confirm numbers for their area.
Why the CNN channel number varies on Xfinity, Spectrum and other cable
Cable companies build a separate lineup for each local system, so the same network can sit on different numbers a few towns apart. That’s why Xfinity’s support page asks you to “find your channel lineup using your address”, and Spectrum’s detailed lineup sits behind a customer sign-in.
Cox and Optimum, on the other hand, publish one PDF per market. For example, Optimum’s January 2026 lineup puts CNN on 25, while Cox lists CNN on different numbers in Phoenix and Orange County. So the fastest way to find CNN on cable is usually one of these:
- Press Guide on your remote and type or say “CNN” in the search.
- Open your provider’s app, sign in and search the channel list.
- Use your provider’s lineup tool with your service address.
Do streaming services have a CNN channel number?
No. Live TV streaming services such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV and Sling TV list CNN by name rather than by number. On Sling, CNN comes with Sling Orange, which Sling prices at $45.99 a month as of November 2026.
