The United States will host Abu Dhabi peace talks for Ukrainian and Russian negotiators on November 10–11, 2026, the first three-way round since February. US envoy Steve Witkoff announced the dates on November 2, and the Kremlin confirmed a day later that its team will attend. Here is what is on the table and how to follow it live.
Key facts (as of November 2026)
- The talks run November 10–11, 2026, in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, with the US acting as mediator (Reuters).
- Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are expected to lead the US side, and Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Putin aide Vladimir Medinsky remains Russia’s chief negotiator.
- Witkoff said the agenda covers post-war security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian steps and the next moves toward a peace deal.
What are the Abu Dhabi peace talks?
The Abu Dhabi peace talks are a US-brokered meeting of Ukrainian and Russian negotiators in the Emirati capital. Witkoff called them working-level negotiations, so this is a round for delegations, not presidents.
It will also be the fourth three-way round this year. According to the Kyiv Post, the UAE capital already hosted rounds in January and February, and Geneva hosted another one in February. None produced a deal, although they did help with prisoner exchanges.
When do the talks start in your time zone?
No session times had been published as of November 4. Abu Dhabi uses Gulf Standard Time, which is four hours ahead of GMT. Daylight saving has ended in Europe and the US, so these gaps hold for both days.
| Abu Dhabi (GST) | London (GMT) | Paris / Berlin (CET) | New York (ET) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10:00 | 06:00 | 07:00 | 1:00 a.m. |
| 14:00 | 10:00 | 11:00 | 5:00 a.m. |
| 18:00 | 14:00 | 15:00 | 9:00 a.m. |
These are example times for converting. Because the sessions are private, news will mostly arrive through statements and briefings.
Why do the Abu Dhabi peace talks matter?
For Europe, the stakes go beyond Ukraine. This week, American officials sit down in Brussels with French, German and British counterparts, plus the EU and NATO. Reuters reported that guarantees for Ukraine, Europe’s future security framework and rebuilding money are on that agenda.
For US readers, the talks are a test of the Trump administration’s diplomacy. White House officials hope Putin will now be readier to give ground, since Trump agreed to drop sanctions on sales of Russian diesel, Axios reported. Still, Axios also said the two sides remain far apart, above all on territory.
What led to this round?
The last US-mediated talks were in February. After that, the process stalled when the US and Israel launched a war against Iran, Reuters reported.
Then, in October, contacts picked up again. Witkoff met Putin in St. Petersburg on October 21, and Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov later said Moscow was ready to resume three-way talks around November 10, according to the Kyiv Post. Meanwhile, Zelensky said on October 28 that he had wanted an earlier date but agreed to wait until US voting was over. Meduza reported that Zelensky said the date could hold unless escalation in the Middle East got in the way.
How have Kyiv and Moscow responded?
Moscow has confirmed it will take part. Peskov said Russia’s negotiators will travel to the Emirati capital for both days, with Medinsky still leading them, APA’s Moscow bureau reported. Ukrainska Pravda, citing RIA Novosti, added that Peskov said delegation members regularly report to Putin and get instructions from him.
The two governments still set out very different terms. Alexander Grushko, a Russian deputy foreign minister, has said any post-war arrangement should include Ukraine giving up its NATO bid and keeping foreign troops off its soil, the Kyiv Post reported. Zelensky, for his part, says Kyiv is seeking US security commitments modeled on NATO’s Article 5, and he wants them approved by a vote in Congress. He has also ruled out neutrality and limits on Ukraine’s army.
What happens next?
First comes the working-level meeting in Brussels this week. After that, the three teams sit down in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, November 10, for two days. As of November 4, no leaders’ meeting and no signing event had been scheduled.
