Yes, Newsmax2 is free. You can watch Newsmax2 free on ad-supported services such as Pluto TV, Plex, Vizio WatchFree+ and FreeCast, with no cable login and no subscription. It isn’t the same as the main Newsmax channel, though. Newsmax2 runs its own daytime lineup of news shows plus documentaries and repeats, while Newsmax’s primetime hosts stay on cable and the paid Newsmax+ app.

- It replaced the free simulcast of the main Newsmax channel, which ended on November 1, 2023.
- Its weekday schedule in late October 2026 included “John Bachman Now,” “Ed Henry: The Briefing” and “The Leventhal Report.”
What is Newsmax2?
Newsmax2 is the free streaming channel of Newsmax Inc., the Boca Raton, Florida, media company that also runs Newsmax TV and Newsmax.com. It is aimed at people who want Newsmax-style news without paying for cable or a streaming subscription.
The channel exists because of a business change. For years, the main Newsmax channel streamed free on platforms such as Roku and Pluto TV. That simulcast ended on November 1, 2023, when Newsmax moved its main feed behind cable deals, including a retransmission agreement with DirecTV. Newsmax2 took over the free slots on those platforms.
At first, Newsmax2 was mostly headlines and best-of clips from the main channel. Since then it has added its own anchored shows. As a result, the channel now feels like a separate network rather than a highlights reel.
Newsmax presents news from a conservative point of view. This guide doesn’t take a side on its coverage; it explains where to watch and what’s on.
Where can I watch Newsmax2 free?
You can watch Newsmax2 free on several ad-supported streaming services, in a browser or in each service’s app. None of them needs a credit card.

Newsmax2 vs Newsmax vs Newsmax+: which one do you need?
The three names cover different products. If you want the famous primetime hosts live, Newsmax2 free won’t give you that; you need the main channel or Newsmax+.
| Newsmax2 | Newsmax (TV channel) | Newsmax+ | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Free ad-supported streaming channel | Main cable news channel | Newsmax’s own streaming subscription |
| Cost (October 2026) | Free | Part of cable, satellite or live TV streaming plans | $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year |
| Main live shows | Newsmax2 daytime and evening lineup | Full Newsmax schedule | Live feed of the main channel |
| Where | Pluto TV, Plex, Vizio WatchFree+, FreeCast and others | Cable, YouTube TV, Sling TV, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, DirecTV | Newsmax+ app and website |
For most casual viewers, Newsmax2 is enough for headlines and interviews through the day. In contrast, if you follow a specific evening show, the $4.99 Newsmax+ plan is the cheapest legal way to watch it live without cable. Our main Newsmax guide, linked above, covers Newsmax+ sign-up and cable options in detail.

Can I watch Newsmax2 free outside the US?
Usually not. Pluto TV, Plex and Vizio WatchFree+ offer different channel lineups in each country, and Newsmax2 is built for the US market. If it doesn’t appear in your local app, it isn’t licensed there.
For viewers in the UK and Europe, our guide to watching US news channels abroad explains the legal options country by country. We don’t recommend VPNs or unofficial streams.
Is Newsmax2 worth watching?
If your goal is free news with a conservative slant, Newsmax2 is one of the few options that costs nothing and needs no login. Compared with the clip-heavy channel of 2023, it now has a real daytime anchor lineup.
A practical tip before you settle in: free channels run ad breaks through every hour, much like cable. They also adjust picture quality to your connection, so if the stream looks soft or keeps buffering, move your streaming stick closer to the router or try a wired connection. That usually fixes it faster than reinstalling the app.
The trade-offs are ads, no primetime stars, and repeats overnight. If you want a similar audience but a different network, our OAN live stream guide covers One America News. You’ll find every other channel on our channels page and in the channel guides section.
